2 times a year we invite an award winning industry talent to come to our shop! From visiting about exciting new events and products in the grooming industry to teaching our staff new techniques we can practice in every day grooming to inspiring our staff to go beyond the point of their knowledge in creative grooming, we love every minute of our workshop weekends with industry super stars!

The Powerhouse Workshop That Closed 2025 With a Bang!
Our final 2025 workshop was nothing short of spectacular — an unforgettable blend of education, inspiration, and pure fun that only happens at A Clip Above!
From breathtaking Poodle demonstrations to in-depth lessons on earning Master Groomer certification, every moment was filled with passion and purpose. Our team also had the incredible opportunity to dive deep into the art of hand stripping — with private classes for a few of our stylists and intro-to-advanced sessions that gave everyone hands-on experience and confidence in this timeless skill.
One of the biggest highlights? Learning how to become content creators! Our groomers were guided by the best in the business on how to perfect lighting, capture angles, plan creative content, and understand why showcasing their craft online matters so much.
It was a workshop for the books — energetic, educational, and overflowing with excitement from start to finish.

A Clip Above’s Halloween Creative Workshop with Jayne Gallagher was a Spooktacular Success!
What an incredible time we had at our Halloween-inspired creative workshop with the amazing Jayne Gallagher, her talented son Donovan, and the one and only Blake Hernandez!
Our team dove into full creative expression — exploring dye work, carving techniques, blow pens, full pet transformations, and so much more. The salon was buzzing with artistry, laughter, and inspiration! Every groomer walked away truly inspired and re-energized by the magic of creative grooming.
A huge round of applause goes to our Director of Education, Andrew, who put together this amazing workshop and worked tirelessly—along with our incredible management team—to make this day so special. From Halloween donuts and a catered lunch, to exclusive photo shoots and support throughout the entire workshop, they made sure every detail was flawless!
At A Clip Above, we’re passionate about giving our staff access to exclusive, hands-on experiences with some of the biggest names in the industry. These moments not only elevate our skills but also strengthen the creative spirit that makes our salon truly one-of-a-kind.

A Clip Above's Winter 2024 Team Building Workshop with Jayne Gallagher!
What an incredible weekend at A Clip Above! We had none other than THE incredible Jayne Gallagher! With a Halloween themed creative grooming workshop lead by one of the industry’s greatest, our salon was nothing less than captivated and inspired!!!! Jayne your passion for putting the animals first and celebrating each creature for their own unique imperfection was truly second to none, bringing multiple of us to emotional tears of inspiration! From technical info, to products, to tools, to technique, to love of imperfection in each pet, you’ve helped bring our salon to new heights! Thank you Jayne for an incredible workshop! Thank you, Blake Hernandez for referring such an incredible human with such a wealth of knowledge and love!! Thank you to all of our staff that showed up for furthering their knowledge, for the shop and for the pets!

A Clip Above was so happy to host a private Blake Hernandez seminar for a whopping 3rd time!!
(AND it was his birthday!!)
This seminar was slightly unique as we gave our star employees the opportunity of a lifetime with Blake!3 of our “Employees of the Month” for this year got the ultimate reward of individual private 1 on 1s with Blake! Tam, Andrew and Sydney each got to choose the breed/technique that they wanted to learn with Blake and hone in on their desired craft!
What a blast they had! Was so fun to watch them in their element!
We also had an awesome Demo done by Blake in his birthday hat that we enjoyed to the absolute fullest! The staff eagerly watched as he transformed a long full coat Standard poodle into a beautiful polished Continental cut! Blake we were so honored that you chose to spend your birthday with us! You’re always a true inspiration, with a wealth of knowledge and we soaked up every single moment! We can’t wait until next time! Everyone from A Clip Above and Happy Happy Birthday!!!

A Clip Above was so happy to host Nathan Austin and his wife Kathlena Austin!
We had an intimate, engaging gathering with these two industry super stars! A Clip Above staff immersed themselves in 2 areas taught by Nathan and Kathlena; Intro to hand stripping and Asian Fusion techniques! This workshop resulted in an enriching experience filled with learning and laughter! Throughout the workshop, our staff delved deep into the skills and techniques that both Nathan and Kathlena demonstrated. They taught about innovative grooming tools, precision techniques, and exchanged valuable insights, fostering a dynamic and collaborative learning environment! The workshop wasn't just about mastering techniques; it was also a celebration of our passion and commitment to furthering education amongst our staff! Thanks again Nathan and Kathlena for coming and giving our staff an experience they will never forget!

A Clip Above's 2023 Fall Team Building Workshop with Blake Hernandez and Elizabeth Gibbs!
A Clip Above’s Fall 2023 Workshop was one for the books!
We did an incredible collaboration with THE Blake Hernandez and THE Elizabeth Gibbs! The staff thoroughly enjoyed this end of the year blow out surprise bringing not one but TWO celebrity groomers to our salon! Not only did EVERY groomer get one on one teaching from both Blake and Elizabeth, they got to witness the Celeb duo work together to create 2 wow factor creative grooming works of art on 2 different dogs! What a blast we had! This is why we call ourselves A Clip Above, because the energy, the opportunity for growth and the inspiration we exude into our staff is second to NONE!

Our first workshop of 2023 went off with a bang!
We hosted THE Blake Hernandez for our private, bi-annual, Teambuilding workshop!
Learning scissor precision, mindfulness in accentuating each dogs physical strengths all while putting out consistent beautiful finishes! We had such a blast and I was so happy to see all of my staff stepping out of their comfort zones and and truly getting in touch with their own creativity and talent!
A Clip Above's 2022 2nd Bi annual Workshop with Elizabeth Gibbs! Theme; Creative Color!
2022 brought us 2 visits from THE miss Elizabeth Gibbs! She was the 2022 pet pro classic winner, along with awards won through out her career in hand scissoring, hand stripping and more!
